1894Group statement on the atmosphere in full here

so if what you have done so far hasn't worked, what are you going to do differently? (irrespective of if the club go along with your proposals or not).
This is what you as a group need to be asking yourselves.

You ask intelligent and thought provoking questions. Do you want to come on board the committee?

email us at the1894group@yahoo.co.uk and we can discuss further

Secondly it makes no difference what is played before the kick off as thousands of fans don't take their place until kick-off or beyond. at places like Anfield it seems this is the opposite with few spare seats and singing in full voice as players walk out.

City even created a video to address this... "15 MINUTES TO GO... TAKE YOUR SEAT... BE PART OF IT". But it's still deserted until <5 minutes before kickoff and there is NO chance of a pre-match atmosphere as it is. The 'singing' corner near the away fans is empty save a few while the away fans have already started singing. The only solution there might be to close City Square earlier - wrap it up 15-20 minutes before kickoff, close the cafe and bar outside, to get fans in the turnstiles. Of the teams I watch on TV, only Arsenal struggle to get their fans into seats before kickoff as much as us. And it could be because City are offering so much outside before kickoff.

I think a lot of people don't get to their seats early because there is no reason to do so. Blaring music, no spontenaiety, no character, I don't think it matters if the bars are closed or not. Provide a reason for fans to get their early, don't punish those that don't think its worth it.

That was what I was intending to do.

Not really, no, but I will PM you to explain.

I need to learn to quote properly.

Think with 2 games coming up which can provide an atmosphere, hopefully the cup game tomorrow is generating noise and getting people back into night games (notice people seem to want to sleep rather than watch city at night with the noise levels) and then the rags on sunday which the place should be rocking by then!

The reason they probably have blaring music is otherwise the atmosphere would be flat in a half empty stadium. The classic catch 22!

I think it all comes down to the fast rise of the team to being relegation strugglers to title winners and challengers. Without doubt the fans other than the big games only respond when the team is playing well

I noticed even at Liverpool when playing Real Madrid the atmosphere was flat as soon as Real Madrid scored a couple of goals as Liverpool offered no encouragement to their fans in supposedly one of the best atmospheres for CL games. The all seated stadia are not conducive to great atmosphere unless you get a big game.

I personally have been very disappointed with CL games in particular as the team has never given us that performance we need and as fans I am not sure if we have ever known how to react to the opposition fans as much of the chanting is based on banter.

Good intentions, however I fear that those in power at City have no idea what we're about or what you want to achieve.

In short it won't put £'s in the till!

It's really sad because this sterile morgue like atmosphere is what is alienating a lot of fans and leading to the sensation that our club is no longer ours!

The complete South Stand should be home only and just a glimpse back to the noise Aris made 4 years ago can show what can be done. It's just a shame those who can change things aren't bothered.
Is right

Too much going outside, unlike Anfield, to convince 1000's in City Square, Club Shop and all the pubs to rush inside early.

Perhaps they should consider doing all the City Square stuff inside, however as previously said, unless it puts £'s in the till it ain't happening.

1000's of fans singing does not mean money spent. 1000's stood outside buying food, beer and souvenirs does!

As much as us old folk want spit and sawdust football where you can swear, sway and sing alike, it just doesn't fit in the business plan. The club want families dressed in Sunday best coming for a carvery, not B.O. ridden drunks farting and swearing.

Sadly we are yesterday's men living in today's world!

just out of interest how many members do you have ??

btw it does come across as if your gonna pack it in if it doesn't improve. Keep going !!! "we are getting to the stage where we have gone as far as we can " it feels like you only just started tbh and i think one thing that will help you is if the membership numbers grow.

City Square does shut down 30 minutes (at a guess) before kick off FWIW.
