Great signs of a Gundo of the past, Iq , control, fast movements, deserved his goal if he could control the foden shot but I hope it Wasnt only because it was Ipswich who were destroyed by us.

You could just praise him and be done with it
Yeah he was good today just like everyone else, would you start him against PSG and Chelsea based on a good performance against Ipswich or is he going back to the bench where he was lately because he was nowhere near it for months ?

Played his best game for awhile, but I think Kova’s performance greatly helped create the space for him to operate. Excellent performance.

Quality doesn't leave and he's pure quality.
It does. But he was good tonight. Like Charles Barkley said snout getting old, sometimes you get flashbacks to the player you once were.

I believe we saw one of those today.

It's been a tough season and Gundo wasn't brought in to be a pivotal midfielder, his role was to to play in games like today, he's been a great player for us, well done Ilkay.

Gundo is still class. Always has been this entire year.

The trouble is that we attempt to play him as a 6. Fucking disaster.

In his prime, Gundo was never, ever, a great defender. Playing him as a 6, now in his twilight years, is a huge fucking mistake.

To illustrate this - let's say we had Luka Modric in our side. And out of desperation we played Luca as the 6. Similar, complete fucking disaster.

Looks fresh after a few weeks off, don't over play him and keep him ready for the right games and he'll do well for us the last part of the season imo.

Shut a few dickheads on here up yesterday didn't he.

When he's not being flogged to death twice a week with no support in midfield, he's still got it in him for his sheer class and talent to shine through.

Fantastic player, always has been and he still has a lot to offer this season.

Thought both Kovacic and Gundo were excellent. Ipswich tried to press but the pair of them had a great understanding of where to pick up the ball from our defence and how to find one another. One would drop in and the other would find space to be an outlet and vice versa. Gundo just kept things ticking really nicely and was always there to intercept on the front foot. Kova drove forwards when things opened up and was good too.

We'll play much better sides than Ipswich is the only problem! If they can go and do the same against PSG then I'll start getting overexcited again!

i admit i thought bringing him back was a good idea, but he’s been terrible; nowhere near what he used to be.
