People will sleep walk into next season based on a couple of good games. It’s been clear in the big games that we have lacked energy and legs in the centre of the park. Some of our fans will want to go again with Bernardo, Gundo and Kova.

Let’s move on.

Fair comment mate, but Bernardo has been brilliant for us not just today but last couple of months. In terms of keeping Gundo, I would, not necessarily as a regular starter in the first XI bit as a squad member; he’s so intelligent, so clever in his play, and would be a good coach-on-the-pitch too.
If other players leave (eg Jack), and are replaced with first team ready players, I’d deffo wanna keep him.

I would only keep Gundo if he’s simply around to help with the younger players. And to influence us off the pitch. With a few games here and there.

If we think we will get back to where we was with him starting every week or two. We won’t be back.

Gundogan should only be a substitute next season but he’s the perfect fire blanket for when we want to kill flames. People here are wanting newcomers to be dropped straight into a Guardiola midfield, but precious few have done that without hiccup, including some great players, so they’ll need time to adapt and experienced heads around them.

His run in has been a revelation, topped off by a bicycle kick today to calm the nerves.

Said previously that if he is going to be here next season, it would be a perfect time to slide him into the Second Assistant seat on the bench, and register him as a player. His knowledge, experience, and gravitas with this club are invaluable.

Fully deserves his second year. His class shines through. Expect him next season to play the role intended for him this season as predominately a rotation option who you'd have no worries slotting in against even the best. We need somebody in that role, no better than gundo.

He needs other lads to stay fit so he isn't flogged for 50 games, same with Bernardo. Both are still good enough at the top level, just not 3 games a week for 46 weeks of the year.
