While Rico was down with cramp, Pep called Alvarez over. He looked for all the world as if he was shuffling towards the headmaster's study for a telling off. Pep just wanted to give him a huge hug.

Knows how to finish. Great to see him keep his calm when in a one on one. Give him those passes and he'll score. We now have 2 lethal finishers.

Taught that second touch with his right foot to take it past the keeper was brilliant. Played it to perfection

One thing I find frustrating is the general reluctance to play him in; seems with Haaland our players will look to him because of his proven reputation but they don't try the same thing with Julian. Makes countless runs and it took KDB to finally reward him for all his runs.

Both his assists came from him winning the ball high up the pitch. He has that quality that was my favourite of Gabbys but seems to have more calmness and incisiveness around the box. Brilliant 2nd half and hopefully a glimpse of what's to come
