He might have lined up as a 9 but he spent large portions of every game this world cup out wide. He was doing the running for Messi defensively, and constantly ran either channel when neccesary as well as getting himself in the box.

I don't see a single reason why he can't line up anywhere across the front 3, Haaland, foden alvarez is the front 3 I've been craving all season. with Grealish and mahrez doing little so far to cement their place, alvarez's world cup performances has to convince Pep to budge him up the pecking order when he returns, Pep won't bench him when he's on such a high, he'll get him in the side.

Best thing is they're all 22, that's potentially a front 3 for a decade

Yeah that's the front three I'd like to see as well. He works his arse off, he's creative as well as having an eye for goal and he'd thrive interchanging with De Bruyne and coming into the 10 spot at times. He'd play off Haaland really well I think and would put in a shift. He's played so much football though, so I think we'll continue to manage him.

We should hammer out a license agreement with Marvel and get those blue Spiderman masks in the club shops for the kiddywinks while the interest in Alvarez is sky high.

Also go the whole hog with City branded viking helmets and horns.

Do we expect Alvarez and the Argentina players to go back to Argentina for a couple of days for a celebration/parade?
sounds like it, just saw on twitter that the mayor of his hometown sez that Julian and the Alvarez family will make a stop there, even if its for just a few hours

After stumbling upon Otamendi’s Instagram live feed & judging by the changing room celebrations I fully expect so.

If anyone wants a real video insight into what it’s like to win a World Cup with your team mates I suggest you check his live videos page whilst it’s still up.

All the Argie stars are there singing & dancing on tables not just Messi, but are very own Sergio.

Plus, the Argentinian goalkeeper Martinez really is a nut case but in fairness it’s all good natured & probably helps if you brush up on some Spanish.

Love how Otters recorded the whole thing!

I say let the lad have time to enjoy this which probably means a couple of weeks in Argentina. Just let him know that he needs to do a bit of fitness work whilst away so that he is ready to play on his return.
We have Haaland, Mahrez and Palmer all rested so we hopefully should be ok in attack - the defense and midfield are more of a concern.

Man, signing Grealish was comfortably the worst decision we've made since the takeover. I have no clue what our (usually excellent) board were thinking. You're right, this would be great, but it would mean Pep admitting that Jack isn't good enough, which we would never allow.
Plus he's a snake.
