He might have lined up as a 9 but he spent large portions of every game this world cup out wide. He was doing the running for Messi defensively, and constantly ran either channel when neccesary as well as getting himself in the box.
I don't see a single reason why he can't line up anywhere across the front 3, Haaland, foden alvarez is the front 3 I've been craving all season. with Grealish and mahrez doing little so far to cement their place, alvarez's world cup performances has to convince Pep to budge him up the pecking order when he returns, Pep won't bench him when he's on such a high, he'll get him in the side.
Best thing is they're all 22, that's potentially a front 3 for a decade
Yeah that's the front three I'd like to see as well. He works his arse off, he's creative as well as having an eye for goal and he'd thrive interchanging with De Bruyne and coming into the 10 spot at times. He'd play off Haaland really well I think and would put in a shift. He's played so much football though, so I think we'll continue to manage him.
