I like the lad plenty,he is spilling over with positives.....but i'm not convinced he fits our style/needs.
If Haaland isn't available, who will replace him ?

Knowing Pep, Alvarez on the bench and Cancelo false nine or something. If Haaland isn't available, who will replace him ?
World cup winner sits on bench shockerKnowing Pep, Alvarez on the bench and Cancelo false nine or something.
World cup winner was bullied off the ball by Iwobi and Godfrey who did not have 1 min at the WC as soon as the WC winner stepped onto the pitch.World cup winner sits on bench shocker

if pep is not able to make use of the best talents in the club maybe he is not upto the job of being the manager of the club? surely foden and alvarez are better than grealish and mahrezHe's a talented young player, but ultimately we're never going to build the team around him when we have the best striker in the world who's a similar age. If Alvarez wants to be a permanent fixture, then he'll have to learn to play in a system designed to get the best out of Haaland. There's nothing to stop them becoming a lethal strike partnership in the future. But with that, we might lose some control over the ball in midfield, so I'm not sure Pep would go for it other than in the odd game.
He already did that playing with Messi. There are more flaws in Álvarez's game than Mbappé's.why shouldn't we? both are upcoming next gen players who competed in a world cup. mbappe has the entire psg and french team built around him so he gets a lot of output. I am sure if pep built the team around alvarez he would have a higher output than now. besides mbappe is not some complete player like messi and has a lot of flaws in his game compared to alvarez. besides you think mbappe will be some great player in south america or england, I don't think so.
based on what?I like the lad plenty,he is spilling over with positives.....but i'm not convinced he fits our style/needs.
Can't compare him to Ferran, Alvarez is a lot betterAlvarez needs to be given a chance just like Ferran Torres. Personally i think Alvarez is a better overall player, what he lacks is 1st touch and control. I was actually suprised at how bad his touch is and how akward his dribbling is.

That's the obvious play. But we can only wait. It will happen eventually.I'd like to see him either wide with Foden the other side and Haaland central, or as a no.10 with De Bruyne having a more disciplined box to box role. Alvarez will chase everything, work well with Haaland/the other wide players and offer a more direct approach to creating chances.
I dont think he will. I think he'll start the FA and Carabao cup games coming after.I suspect he will play against Chelsea. He isn't the finished article, but he offers something very different to what we have and something defenders despise.
