Alvarez is a more clinical finisher.

When he plays lone striker like he did yesterday he was isolated, looked invisible at times.. but that's the same problem as Haaland.. our midfield not finding our strikers with key passes.

When Haaland and Erling play together, they are almost in perfect sync and they create space for each other and open up passing lanes for the midfield too. I think we're a much more fluid team with Haaland and Julian up top.

We might actually get more life out of KDB too by not making him play 80 games a year and save him for last 30 minute subs when we need to win a game!

What about when Erling & Haaland play together ;)
 
Time will tell if he's an upgrade or not, but without continuous playing time it will definitely be much more complicated to make that assessment.

Julian will be great for years to come, and will only get better. But he might not want to be in the bench for long....
 
Knowing Pep i'm pretty sure he will bench him in saturday's game.
