Think the only thing he's really got to sort is his indecisiveness around the edges of the penalty area. A bit similar to Grealish, actually. A lot of the time Julian can spot a good opening but then he delays it because he's not quite sure, and then the opportunity gets closed off. He always recycles it well, though, same as Grealish. He's definitely growing as a player, has quickly become very important this season.
Always said if you put Alvarez leading the line like Haaland, he'd bag up nearly every match. Regarding the indecision, it is frustrating watching Grealish do all the hard work then not finish, but is this a Guardiola directive, only the other week Pep having a go at Haaland for wanting to finish, but told he needs to keep possession.

With the success of Julian here, I'd be surprised if we are not keeping and eye on Pablo Solari, seems to be the next big talent coming out of River plate.

Alvarez getting his flowers as the season goes on. Good segment about his recent performance.

As an argie and a River follower I can tell you Solari is good but I don't feel he has top team premier league material. There is a young lad called Claudio Echeverri. He is only 17 yo but is a young diamond hyped for about the last 2 or 3 years. I think he will be the next big talent.

Slightly confused by the narrative that he wont stay here long if he is 2nd fiddle to haaland.

Playing with Haaland actually opens up his game to so much more. He has more space. This is actually his best position, not lone 9.

You see something similar with lautaro, playong off a partner.

Stick an Argentinian in the blue and white of City and they look at home! Love this lad, he's phenomenal. Plays the game just like Tevez did - runs after everything, never gives up and puts his body on the line. Then he has the quality to drive the ball forwards and bang one in the top corner, or play someone else in. His movement doesn't clash with Haaland but utilises the space he leaves. He's brilliant, and so versatile.
