Alvarez is strange. He kind of has it all, but hasn't quite found his role in the team yet. It is definitely going to be an interesting season for him.

He is a striker playing in the roaming winger role.

Its a position suited perfectly for Phil but Alvarez will find it harder, but its the best way to play all 3.

He will only get better at it.

I don't agree with the criticism. He works so hard for us, and he needs to start as many matches as possible. I don't care in which position because Julian is always great for us. He will obviously only get better.

I thought he was great. Lost a few balls. Other than that, his intensity, movement and decisions were great.

A great goal and even though it's not his natural position, he never stops running and always leaves it on the pitch.

He's going to be a top player for us.

He reminds me of Jesus but is a better finisher ……..if it wasn’t for the big man he’d be our number one striker without doubt. Quality player only going to improve at such a young age - cannot understand any criticisms of his game. Heads gone

Absolutely superb goal. Not in his favoured position, but obvious why Guardiola is picking him. Far too good to be on the bench. Just need to find a way to get him and Haaland to properly click and we’ll be laughing.

Obviously they aren't the same player but his finishing is very similar to Aguero's in how natural and instinctive it is.

He's a fantastic penalty box striker but can also score from any angle or distance like Sergio.

Apart from many great attributes Alvarez has, one thing which pleases me alot is the Aguero Flashbacks we get to see, today's finish was so Aguero like

Ran all game, didn't lost the ball, had a couple of quality interventions and made the most out of the half a chance he got to win City the game. What exactly did he do poorly?

I don't know why Grealish was taking the CK over Julian today. If KDB isn't on, Julian is the best set piece taker.

I just worry that he's going to burn out. I think he needs to pace himself a bit but I think he almost feels the need to pick up Haaland's slack on the pressing front(just speculating, obviously). The season is so fucking long. Hell of a strike. Vintage Kun that.

Agree, love Julian's corner kicks, although they may want him in the box to capitalise on any lose balls.

He can score a thunder bastard, that is for sure. We’ve got two of the most lethal strikers in the world playing for us. I feel Haaland is quite wasteful but the amount of chances he gets is due to his positioning and physique.

I still don't think playing him in the same 11 as Haaland gets the best out of either of them,but he has a wonderful attitude and a never say die spirit.....and as we saw again.....the rare ability to create a game winning moment.
