194.5m losses 2010/2011

These accounts are OUTSIDE of FFPR accounting rules, it is this years accounts which will be included hence the Campus deal and need for CL and the more measured signing of players during last the summer. :-)

If there are any journalists that are reading bluemoon how about one of you actually try and do your job properly and use your brains rather than reporting shite.

Why not work out how much tax our players and staff give to the economy, the tax all the workers building our campus will pay, the vat on the materials they will have to buy, the jobs created by the takeover and investment in the area, the tax these people will pay, not to mention the amount of money the players spend while they are living here, every ferrari they buy should be welcomed by the chancellor i would have thought.

once you have researched this a little and worked out the figures then please do tell us how many fucking nurses this provides for, then you can work out if the sheik didnt buy our club how many extra nurses this would have paid for(a big fat zero)

So when you slag off a footballer for being overpaid which no doubt they are or slag off man city have a look in the mirror and ask yourself a question, am i a journalist? or just stealing a living

Ignore the twats. People know how ridiculous and stupid that dreadful profession is. They must think we're all thick as pig shit or they wouldn't pull this sort of shite. SSN has very definitely got the worst editorial policy when it comes to City. They make the likes of Talk Shite and MOTD seem balanced and reasonable . There is no doubt in my mind that the chief sports editor at Sky (whoever he is) is a horrid, rabid, twat-faced rag. But I don't give a flying donkey turd what they think. Their views are not echoed outside the world of football punditry and phone-in shows and they are deluded if they think they're fooling the millions of ABU's up ad down the country. They can't even fool the neutrals.

don't suppose that $ky-mutv will be reporting on that

not that they're biased in favour of their business partners or anything

Manchester City to escape with a fine after announcing record £195m losses

Manchester City will escape with a fine if, as expected, they become one of the first clubs in Europe to break UEFA's Financial Fair Play guidelines.

City have released their most shocking set of annual accounts yet as another year of mammoth transfer spending led to the Barclays Premier League leaders running up record losses of £194.9million for the 2010-11 financial year.

That is an increase of £74m on last year and £54m more than the previous record, the £141m loss recorded by Chelsea in 2005. City's wage bill is also up 31 per cent to £174m, £22m more than the club's turnover.

It is more than Chelsea's £172m and way beyond Manchester United's £152m and Arsenal's £124m. These are the last set of accounts that won't be considered by FIFA in advance of the official introduction of the FFP rules in three years.

Even so, it is understood City will almost certainly fail to match the strict income/ expenditure guidelines by the time the rules kick in.

Nevertheless, Sportsmail understands UEFA president Michel Platini has privately softened his stance on initial punishments and that clubs like City will be fined and not kicked out of all European competition as long as they can show their figures are moving in the right direction. This will come as a huge relief to City and other cash-rich European clubs.

It is understood exclusion from the Champions League and Europa League will befall only repeat offenders.

City's losses reflect a period that included the purchase of Edin Dzeko, David Silva, Yaya Toure and Mario Balotelli and, crucially, not the £40m-a-year naming rights deal struck with Etihad airline in July for the club's stadium and shirts.

That 10-year deal will begin to show next year, and City are confident a picture of vastly reduced spending and significantly increased revenue will begin to emerge then, though whether losses will fall to the permitted UEFA maximum of £38.5m over the three years is debatable.

Friday's figure of £174m on wages is £21m higher than the club's turnover. The £156.5m on transfer fees does not include fees for Sergio Aguero and Samir Nasri.

So. as I understand it, we've not declared our income of sponsorship for the stadium name deal and not shown the champions league money but we have declared all our other expenditure including pay offs for players and staff. Which means next year we can more or less write off £100 million pounds of debt which we are showing now without doing anything?

Somebody pass the mind bleach...

Man City run up record debts

Soccer: Premier League leaders Manchester City have announced record annual losses of €227 million, the highest ever recorded by an English club.

The colossal sum shows the depth of the investment made by Sheikh Mansour to transform City from a lower-mid table outfit in 2008 to their present status.

Whilst accepting the vast scale of the losses, City officials are adamant it marks a low point in their financial graph and from this point forward, they will be embarking on a significant upward trend.

“Our losses, which we predicted as part of our accelerated investment strategy, will not be repeated on this scale in the future,” said chief operating officer Graham Wallace.

Thankfully for City, the figures will not be taken into account as part of Uefa’s Financial Fair Play regulations as they fall outside the accounting window.

Indeed, as “additional exceptional charges” of €40 million have been added to a net loss of €187 million for the 2010-11 financial year, it could be argued the club have been quite astute in their planning.

It is also easy to see why the club are so strong in defending their present position as the mammoth sponsorship deal with Etihad Airlines, said to be worth €41 million-a-year over the next decade, plus the riches on offer in this season’s Champions League, will have begun to impact on City’s accounts in 12 months’ time.

The Blues are also pointing out that commercial revenue has risen 49.7 per cent to €56.5 million and TV rights, thanks to the club’s third place Premier League finish, winning the FA Cup to end a 35-year trophy drought and a run to the last 16 of the Europa League, have increased 27.4 per cent to €80 million. Overall turnover was €178.5 million, the highest in the club’s history.
