2 Days to make Mancini happy

We are the champions. There is no need to lose sight of this fact. Tweaking was always going to be the only thing required. We may wish we'd tweaked a bit more effectively than this but only the Chavs and possibly the Rags will present a threat this season and if the going gets tough, we can always have a January trolley dash.

I predict we’ll sign a player with an unpronounceable name, from a country I’ve never heard of, from a team that sounds like a sexually transmitted disease, he won’t speak English and he’ll have a face like a bag of spanners.

Well it looks like Mancini is finally getting his way. If I was to predict what he was going to do after last season it would be something like this.

Tevez out.
Adam Johnson out.
Kolo Toure out
De Jong out.
Hargreaves out.

New striker in.
New winger in.
New centre back in.
New midfielder in.
New midfielder in.

Well Tevez turned things around and wanted to stay so there was no urgent need for a striker.
Johnson is out and you need to replace him.
De Jong is rumoured to be out and needs replacing.
It seems Savic has gone instead of Kolo Toure. New defender coming in.
Rodwell in to replace Hargreaves was a great deal.
You still need a winger and another central midfielder for Mancini to be satisfied with the squad.

I am guessing his initial targets were RVP, Hazard, De Rossi, Rodwell and I am unsure about the centre back.

Still the business has been done too late and there is a chance you won't get the winger or the midfielder. If you do get those two players and they are half decent then reckon you will win the league and a cup this season.

What I'm wondering is who will be fired as a result of this disastrous transfer window? Marwood must be sweating.

Did the window end without anyone telling me?

I don't think it has been that bad, slow to bring in players but that was always likely to happen given the specific positions we needed to strenghten.

At the beginning we all said we wanted shut of

Ade
RSC
Bridge

Barring any hiccups all three will be gone we will have cleared 170K of the wages bill for Ade, and 90K for RSC plus we might get a small fee for him.

Further a lot of posters didn't rate Savic and it looks as though he is on his way out. AJ more even split as to his talents and what he brought to the team as a whole but we have made a profit on him.

Incomings one 20 year old midfield player who Mancini has been trying to get for 2 years so irrespective of whether we think he is good enough Mancini does. We are likely to get a centre back 19 with lots of promise. The only thing that is lacking is a wide player with pace and maybe another midfield player. We might get Sinclair or another unknown and we might get Garcia or even DDR (accept odds stacked heavily against him coming :-( )

The only thing that could have happened which didn't was the fact that these players could have been here a lot earlier I don't know the ins and outs of that but overall it hasn't turned out too badly has it?
