Its not a coincidence that we every time played way way better when he was out of the squad. Hope this is his last season , deserved a warm farewell. Extending his contracat = colosal mistake. Like shooting yourself in the knee

Forest had quick players on his side and in the first half Doku repeatedly lost possession and either failed to cover or gave free kicks away. Walker is clearly not helping himself by getting caught flat-footed and taking unnecessary risks. Guardiola has given him 3,655 minutes this year and that’s a lot of football.

Walks played like he was hungover from the pub last night. Didn't track runners and looked a step slow today (or two).

Not sure if Akanji is going to step into RB next season but we need to get Walker's replacement in ASAP. He was a fantastic player in his day and the best RB to ever grace the premier league but time is undefeated.

Nobody doubts what he has given this side. If this was the Kyle Walker - Last 5 years thread nobody would question him. However, this is the Kyle Walker - 2023/24 thread and at the moment he is a complete liability.
Exactly. I don't understand how what he's done over his career should impact our ability to see this season through? This isn't meant to be a referendum on his stellar career. It's about the here and now and the realities of our current situation. Johnny Stones and Dias are sitting when Akanji could easily be moved out to the right and provide 10X the stability Walker is currently providing this squad...

He'll know in his heart that yesterday was a bit of a turning point. Never seen him get beaten for pace so often or get beaten in the tackle that much. Happy to keep him for another year because the squad see him as a leader, which will prove vital over the course of a season, but his appearances will have to be more limited. Kinda like how Zaba was phased out by Sagna and Navas across the 15/16 and 16/17 seasons. Hopefully a new RB (or just making Akanji a full-time RB) will help ease him out of the team.
