It doesn't matter if any fan thinks "screwing around" is a big deal, or not.
A major reason that makes the current City team so special is the team spirit with several mature, responsible captains.
If several of the City squad think Walker's off field behaviour is wrong though, factions could occur.
Do the wives/partners of the team socialise together ? They could influence the players ?
Finally, will Walker be influenced by his moving out of the family home ? If yes, it could influence his playing ability ?
As a confirmed family man, Pep may regret making Kyle team captain...

Forget what players do off the pitch for a min, our previous 4 captains had big moments on the pitch that inspired thier teamates and fans.

Kompany - vs manu & Leicester etc
Silva - too many moments to mention
Ferna - that performance vs pool 18/19
Gundo - last 10 games of 18/19 as DM, 20/21 goal scoring season, 21/22 vs Villa etc.

Walker does not inspire on the pitch and does not even lead by example, this is a man who petulantly mma kicked a Leipzig player got sent off and banned, backheels in his own penalty box and concedes goals, technically he's been the worst player in every season he's been here. He shouldn't be captain of the best team in the world.

Let's hope you're right.
City have the best team spirit in the League.
Look at our rivals (especially the Trafford Tinkers), we are a team, as well as a group of exceptional individuals.
Whenever we have been put under media pressure ( e.g. Klopp is better than Pep, Jack is a waste of money, Rodri continually should be booked etc.), Pep stays calm, as do the players.
When LFC or Arsenal hace raced ahead in the League, we have hauled them back.
Previously our captain(s) have been respected, cool, calm and collected.
I am to be convinced that Kyle Walker will be as assured as previous skippers...

Fuck off. He might be a dick in his private life and I agree he shouldn’t be club captain because of this but to suggest he hasn’t been a great and inspirational player for us is utter bollocks. The best right back we’ve had in modern times and his performance against Madrid in particular will always be legend.

I didn't say he hasn't been a good player for us, i stated that he's poor technically and that's one of the numerous reasons he should not be captain.

Exactly this. All the players - probably everyone at the club in fact - will have been well aware of his extra-curricular activities for years and they still voted him captain.

I thought his antics in that pub last year were idiotic as he could have got himself into serious trouble and it reflected very poorly in the club, but if he shags about a bit and his wife has tolerated it for years then it’s not really anyone’s business. It’s not like he’s the only one at it.
