Sadly, he's almost certainly only done that interview to stave off whatever else they have on him.

As bad as it looks it’s probably the best option for him.

This quote from him made me chuckle.

I said over the summer that it was a mistake extending him. Let alone for three years. The funniest part, even then, was people saying it was a good move because of his 'senior leadership'. Bahaha. He'll be praying his wife doesn't divorce him and take more or less everything he's worked for.

Seems like a pretty ill-advised interview to me. Only possible explanation is that they were going to dish more dirt on him if he didn’t do it? Annoying that this detracts from his best performance of the season.
