I raised 2 points, one was about his concentration levels, which he showed multiple times in the game he wasn't as switched on and alert as he should be, the second I explicitly said wasn't down to him and more of a tactical thing.

Perhaps slating is the wrong word for your specific comments, but saying people are judging him to have had a motm performance just based on that one impressive display of speed is disingenuous. There were multiple good moments for him in that game and I felt his performance was one of the better ones, only just behind Kovacic for me.

His concentration levels were not at fault, as you said he’s being asked to play a higher role, and Pep must think it’s worth the risk.

Seems like a pretty ill-advised interview to me. Only possible explanation is that they were going to dish more dirt on him if he didn’t do it? Annoying that this detracts from his best performance of the season.
