Losing him might be as painful as losing the Champions League Final.
The trouble with that idea is that we will then have three players (KDB, Gundo and Bernie) with “freedom of the park”. You simply can’t play with that lack of positional discipline. Can we start giving Bernardo the freedom to effect the game with the ball?
He brings so much personality and energy to the team, that would be hard to replace. At the same time though, he very rarely gets on the score sheet and doesn't massively really chip in with assists. 12 months ago i'd of not really been bothered if he left, but he definitely stepped it up this season.Love the guy to bits but I do think he needs to calm down sometimes, amazing energy levels but runs about like a lunatic a little too much.
Has so much ability a wonderful footballer, although he really should improve his finishing.
Stats can lie. He's an old fashioned fans favourite in many ways. He runs and runs and runs and there's no lost cause in his book. The fact we win so many games with him in the side is evidence of his importance. That's why statistics are only part of the story and will evolve as time goes on to cover "pre-assists" and things like that in my opinion. We'll soon have the triple double like the NBA with players hitting 10 goals, 10 assists and 10 pre-assists!
