Absolutely, and it looks to me that Phil Foden fall under the same Category.

Both seem to be getting the same treatment by Pep
Foden is impactful when he plays even if he drifts in and out and is not consistent for 90 mins. Bernardo is NOT, no matter what position he plays.

Bernardo has been fucked about with minutes and positions but still remains one of the hardest workers. Foden and Laporte have had the same treatment.
Why would anyone compare these 3?

Laporte made serious mistakes and stones and dias have yet to make any. Laporte should take it in good spirits , work hard off the pitch and wait for his chance just like stones did. Stones had a chance to leave this summer but he wanted to stay in the club , fight and improve. Now he is being offered a new contract!

Foden is a young player and should soak up everything pep teaches him. Foden gets/will get chances every alternate game. He should make the most of it.

Bernardo is just out of form for both club and country. Many find it hard to accept because he was exceptional for one season when KDB was out and is a hard worker and a good lad. So blame his being out of form on pep!

If Pep prefers Sterling on the right, the left wing spot is open for taking. Either of Bernardo, Foden or Mahrez can adapt to a left-wing role, he will become an automatic starter.

He does very little on the right or central these days. You’ll get absolutely nothing from him on the left wing besides plenty of running. Sterling is much better on the right but the only 2 who could play on the left and potentially get the goals required are Jesus and Torres.

I get a bit perturbed when I see the decline of Bernardo excused because he works hard. He is, or can be, a world class and gifted player, but he has not shown it now bar the odd flash for 18 months. All clubs have lads who work hard, but you win things with quality. I like him as a lad and as a player, but there needs to be an honest assessment of his current performance levels.

Jesus on the left would work when aguero is back to start a game I think jesus left aguero cf and sterling on the right would work well. Jesus played very well there against Madrid scored 2 goals over the two legs and tracked back well but he's never seemed to have been played there since

tolmie mentioned that him and rodri are on the chopping block. With bernardo i think we would actually make a profit on him compared to what we signed him for.
Very much doubt that, Pep started with both in the last games being absolutely desperate to win them after WBA. If Pep thought of them as not good enough, he wouldn't risk to play with them and lose the title already in December. We have won three games in a row with Rodri and Bernardo starting in all of them.

Sometimes common sense + logic tells you everything you need to know. There's nothing to suggest that Pep considers Rodri and Bernardo not good enough for City, especially given Pep's last team selections.
