Not many better players on the planet right now.
Still 4 years left on his contract as well.

I may be way off the mark here but is the fact Mendy isn’t around him - given they were supposedly good mates - and he’s suddenly performing at his best level since 2018/18?

It could well be that he’s been told to perform better to justify clubs paying the asking price they wouldn’t in the Summer. I just hope not.

He’s a little genius in the middle, just as we always expected and now he’s getting the chance every game rather than being shipped out wide or being dropped all the time.

I think its pretty obvious that the various Mendy related issues have been dragging him down for a while.

On his current level he is better than his brother dave ever was for us, and its crackers how similar he is to dave with the turn turn turn part of his game, player of the year by a mile so far

I don't know why but it feels like he's playing better than he did in 18/19. He feels more central to things. Might just be recency bias on my part though.
