May get pelted but the only comparable at the moment is the Yaya 13/14 season, who was the best player in Europe that season, this is even more exciting though as he’s starting to get the goals along with his application...

If these levels were being replicated at any of the big clubs he’d be lauded as the messiah, pep turning him to our messi...

Salivate as KDB will have to go up a notch, which only benefits us overall!
contrary to belief both can play together without any decrease in effectiveness as we have seen in so many big games this season. the reason it seem to be more eye-catching when the other does not play has nothing to with the actual gameplay but rather just a perception.

look at this way, if messi and ronaldo played at the same team each of them will standout more when one of them sit out of a particular game. but when both of them play together they will overshadow each other and look like no one is greater than the other when in fact they put up similar performance.

Disagree, the big difference when both starting is Bernardo is shifted from where he is most effective, where currently he can impact a number of areas with his workrate, he is shifted wide where it exposes a gaping hole centrally.... Rodri is a different player and the argument has a number of variables, but this has been apparent since Liverpool at home 2/3 seasons ago

disagree bernardo does not ever gets shifted from any position. he can play anywhere so can KDB they have elite game IQ. where they position themself depends on the opposition and the state of the game. Go and watch the game against Chelsea this season where both played together in midfield. to this day that was the most dominant performance of the season by this team, we completely smothered them in the midfield. the evidence does not suggest to me they can't play together completely the opposite if anything.

Imho you are absolutely spot on. "Different" is the appropriate description, not the "better/worse" argument.

Who posted "evidence" that "they can't play together" ?. Do you watch all the games , do you realise how many different positions Bernie has played in, left mid, right mid, wing, false 9 and that's just this season, rubbish that you claim he "not ever gets shifted". Of course they can play together, the question is how effectively . The issue City have is maximising the "Team's" benefit from the combined talents of these players. The quality, style and tactics of our opponents are also a variable in where and how we set up our team. There are reasons why Pep sometimes plays Kevin as a false 9 or wide right, dare we think that it is because he believes it is best for the team to play him there and Bernie elsewhere. It is not one better or worse than the other, it is the best unit. This idea that player's with "elite game IQ" can "play anywhere" is a fantasy, imagine Vinnie as a right winger, Kevin as a left back. Elite players may well be able to play to a high standard in most positions but name 1 that has played to an elite personal standard in 11 different positions ie. "anywhere".

load of nonsense saying nothing and making irrelevant arguments. I suggest you go back and watch our match against chelsea this season which was our best performance this season. go watch how Bernardo and KDB played together and then come back to make an evidence based argument.

Is this Bernardo as good as David? Better than David? Genuine questions.

In terms of goals + assists David was more productive, but if you factor in Bernardo's insane work-rate and his ability to pop up with big goals, especially away from home, then things get more complicated.

Impossible to answer, though it is safe to say if he stays long enough he'll have a similar kind of impact David had in his time at City.

I don't think he is, personally, but that's no slight on Bernardo. David is one of THE best midfielders in the PL era.

B silva is very special player but not yet the player D silva was I never thought I would see better than David but we just might you know, here's hoping

His name is Phil and he hails from Stockport.

live Bernardo though, I mean it’s impossible not to isn’t it.

Tbh, whilst there are quite a few very obvious similarities and reasons to compare the two I think they're fundamentally different players.

David was all about passing and positioning. Even in his earlier years, he had the rare ability to control a game from the attacking third in a way a DM would on the halfway line. His ability to get on the ball was incredible, his creativity was off the charts at his peak and he was quite the genius that we're likely never going to see again.

Bernardo doesn't have David's in game intellect, but he is as gifted at combining technique and workrate as almost anybody ever. He is the ultimate team player with the most insane close control and dribbling you could ask for. He makes so many smart runs to support team-mates and create potential opportunities it's unbelievable.

I'd say it's great we had David when we did and that we have Bernardo now though. I'd put them on similar pedestals but as stated above, for very different reasons.

Seems you cannot tolerate any opinion expressed not 100% agreeing with yours, the same goes for any you cannot understand. On the matter of "evidence", why don't you read what is posted. Not once did I imply or state any criticism of Kevin and Bernie playing together. Your statement that our match against Chelsea "was our best performance this season" is "evidence", is arrogant nonsense, it is just your opinion, no more no less, I might even agree, but opinions are not evidence. I suggest if you cannot understand what other posters are posting you should refrain from re-watching Chelsea v City continuously and take some simple language comprehension lessons before you accuse any other poster of posting "nonsense", although "nonsense" does seem to be your speciality.

I love Bern but he still has a way to go

Bernardo Silva has improved an amazing amount this season! He has grown into one of the best players in the world. By the way, I don't know if you've noticed that he's become much more agile and adventurous this season? Well, if he keeps this level up, I hope he stays with us, because it's brutal!
