Seen a lot of people calling that penalty a Panenka and I'm not having it. It was a shit penalty but he put plenty of power behind it. I hate seeing people try and frame it as some sort of arrogant act that he only did to stroke his own ego.
I never knew there were so many people that don't know what a panenka is

Plenty of power? You're joking, right? I've had more powerful farts.

A panenka has to be down the middle AND a chip. The chip is a pretty major part of it as it plays a role in deceiving the keeper, much like a pitcher throwing a change-up in baseball. Please do not kill me for bringing up baseball lol

the keeper was fully expecting it but i refuse to blame a player for missing a pen, it can happen to anyone. we needed to avoid getting there but once kdb and haaland were subbed off our attack vanished

I said myself that it's a shit penalty but it's a very simple fact: if you think that's a Panenka, you simply do not understand what a Panenka is, and if that's the case I can't really help you.

Compare that penalty to any actual Panenka and you'll see that the difference in power is night and day. Aguero actually did try a Panenka, in a game against Chelsea, and funnily enough he got far less shit for that (which was a genuine bit of arrogance and egotism) than Bernardo is now for just taking a bad pen.

Why are people trying to forensically dissect a fucking penalty? He made a split-second decision and got it wrong. Something we’ve all done and ended up regretting. Any **** pontificating about this is a fucking hypocrite.

What actually matters is that he’s delivered for us so many times, is a warrior, and despite his instincts seemingly telling him otherwise, he’s stayed here in a climate he doesn’t like, through his best years, and always given everything on the pitch. And never complained once.

Oh, and by the way he’s world class.

So fucking what if he fucked up a penalty? Get to fuck.

Some of you cunts need to take a good look at yourselves.

Gutted for the guy. I bet he felt awful, like he's let his team mates and fans down. In the extremely unlikely event you're reading the ramblings of an aging Salfordian, Bernie, want to thank you for everything you've given us and hope for many more moments of your craft on the pitch.
Go little rock star.

Pirlo had a perfect Panenka against Joe Hart (unfortunately) in the Euros, that's the one that always comes to mind for me

Where did I say it was a panenka?

Scousers mocking him , they forget the bricking of his works bus on the way to Klanfield. I do think he could have been more respectful at the guard of honour but we all know how scousers can trigger intelligent people.

The effort this man has put into our cause from the day he came to the club is magnificent, the guy is a legend, a real one.
100% fella. Wish everyone would stop getting precious over a penalty. We’ve missed them before and we will miss them again its part and parcel unfortunately
