The reason we have to wait until Friday is because the Republican party has successfully made the US elections the worst run in any western country.

In any normal country, you'd get a result on or near the night because you'd count all the votes sitting around having been mailed in early ahead of time. But because it's the USA, the Republicans have forced through rules to mean you have to wait until after the votes on the day.

Its a bit of a nightmare scenario where Biden probably needs those two to win. It will take days to get the final numbers and he might get them by small margins. The court cases will no doubt start before the counting is finished.

In good news, the Dems have 4,000 lawyers on retainer for this very eventuality. It is playing out like a number of posters have talked about for a few weeks.

I have been repeating all night/morning that it would all close and the bookies odds were not representative of the actual probabilities.

Detroit districts like Wayne will be very Democrat. However, there’s quite a few ‘red neck’ districts in wider Michigan. Close again but Biden only needs a very small swing to take Michigan.

Yeah the Republicans haven't been particularly subtle in what there plan was going to be. Get the parts of swing states you know will probably vote for them counted early, leave the postal and metro votes until last, declare victory halfway through and then lawyer up claiming fraud. I genuinely don't think they had any plan of it being this close
