Too bad none of you all matter in the greater scheme of things. :) So I'm not particularly worried.

I'm simply pointing out the different philosophies the underpin both Political partied positions as it relates suppression and fraud.

Both concerns are legitimate. Screams of false equivalency are ridiculous when both done well can change elections.

It's the knife vs gun violence argument. They are not the same, sure! But both kill just the sane when used properly..
So what are the stats regarding knife crime deaths vs gun deaths Dax?

In principle, Republicans only want legal voters, and Democrats want ease of access for voting.
Can you not see what is massively implied in this statement? One set of voters are legitimate and the other are not. If you are wishing to maintain balance you should find better words.

I suspect that @Dax777 isn't seeking balance in any form whatsoever. I have read every single post in this thread and at no point have I been able to determine where he is coming from.

I hope you meant improperly.

But thanks for the false equivalency parallel.

It is like comparing gun and knife violence. This is not someone with an automatic knife killing 58 people.

Dax.

Republicans want only Republicans to vote, and they are publicly on record as saying they want to suppress and disenfranchise as many people as possible because it's how they win.

Democrats want everyone who is legally able to vote, to be able to vote easily and quickly.

The Democratic position is the position of every first world country. No one in the UK or Germany or France or Italy or Canada thinks that letting people vote easily leads to voter fraud because it's fucking bullshit. And all these western democracies manage to have fair elections without throwing up every possible roadblock to voting possible.
Doma,

Democrats only want Democrats to vote. Just like Republicans only want Republicans. That's not news

It's not a false equivalency at all. Both worries about election illegitimacy are valid.

There are well documented cases of Fraud conviction. Project Veritas (granted they have a Right bias) just put out a video of so e dude in Minnesota harvesting mail in ballots and bragging about it.

A simple google of the national cases of Fraud conviction would easily put to rest any notion that this is not going on. It is. And it has the potential to derail elections.

Similarly, putting up fake ballot collection posts. Sending out fake robo calls about where to vote etc. Also does the same.

The claims of difference in magnitude doesn't change the underlying premise. That both are wrong and both happen a lot.

I checked into the Mandalay that Thursday night, one floor below him, and four rooms over towards the south. Looking out my window as I ironed my clothes Friday morning, I watched them get the concert set up. I spoke at conference at the hotel that day, and headed back to the airport to go home. Sunday night was the massacre. I was physically ill at work the next morning.

Fucking hell!

My fingers hovered over my keyboard to type something but that's all I can muster. Fucking hell.

285 knife deaths - UK (Pop. 67m so 1 knife death per 235,000 people)

30,000 gun deaths - US (331.5m so 1 gun death per 11,000 people)

So yeah, it’s just the same as that debate in so much as you’re talking shite with more false equivalency on that one as well.

Exactly. DEMOCRATIC PARTY. Clue's in the name.

So for unknown reasons Harris (her AG office as she would say) declined to prosecute Mnuchin (or his bank) for mortgage fraud.

And you're critical of her - but not Trump who made the alleged fraudster his treasury secretary.
Mnuchin's financial improprieties will pail into insignificance when the full truth of The Trump Organisation's financial crimes is revealed.

The biggest scandal in all this is that for whatever reason Mnuchen wasn't prosecuted, he still had a question mark hanging over him regarding a potential financial crime. But despite this, the Trump Administration still hired him as SECRETARY of the F*CKING TREASURY.

I'm surprised that you seem surprised. :-(

Thanks Sam, I asked the ever evasive Dax what the figures were but weirdly had no response. I have to assume it was a typo when he put that both guns and knives kill just the sane.
