Socrates called it.
If you watch the analyst on there he explains how some of the counties/districts are returning results quite slowly and if they're in a few Biden areas can soon make a difference. In Ohio earlier at 80% count Biden was leading but ended up soundly beaten. What I don’t get, CNN have figures scrolling along the bottom of their own news channel screen with the votes that have already been counted, and also have % remaining to count. In 5 states using their own figures, Trump is ahead by some way which is pointing to the fact that Trump will win. Then out comes Trump and announces exactly the same, backing up CNN’s figures and then CNN blast him for doing so. No wonder there is ultimate fucking confusion
Why are so many of the postal and early voters supposed to be mainly pro-Biden? Is it a demographic thing?
Ari is good on MSNBC
Covid safety, democrats asked them to do it that way. Just like the rallies. Why are so many of the postal and early voters supposed to be mainly pro-Biden? Is it a demographic thing?
Ain't that the truthSuperb post that applies right across the political forum.
I think you may not be far off. I think this is an insurance policy if anything in his eyesAs Biden's ahead already and will surely win a big majority of the incoming postal votes, I think it still looks like a Biden victory. Trump's bombastic claims that he has won are IMO merely laying the ground for the claim that he was cheated out of the Presidency. And of course a precursor to his legal challenges.
It's partly traditional but this time there was two additional fears, aggro on voting day at the booth and virus. Dems are likely to be more careful on the latter. Why are so many of the postal and early voters supposed to be mainly pro-Biden? Is it a demographic thing?
Do we actually know that though? Or like a lot of other things in this election, is it just an assumption by people working for the media? I know the out-and-out Trumpians don't give a shit about coronavirus, but surely there's a huge number of older voters who don't want to go to polling stations who would have voted Republican. Why are so many of the postal and early voters supposed to be mainly pro-Biden? Is it a demographic thing?
I promise i'm not solely replying to you - but yes, for whatever reason mail in ballots and early voters tend to be heavily from urban areas which vote Democrat. I honestly have no idea why. But that's why so many journalists and talking heads reference them as such. Why are so many of the postal and early voters supposed to be mainly pro-Biden? Is it a demographic thing?

What's fascinating here to me is we started with you being rather stubborn and me being rather cold, and then we had a laugh and amicable moments, and now you're posting a really thorough, thoughtful, nuanced and clear answer that was not only insightful and enjoyable to read but also allows me to see exactly why you have the point of view that you do, precisely what that point is, and how you got there. Hearing an actual human account is so much more impactful (for me at least) than people throwing buzzwords and the like about.Ha - me too.
I can give you a more direct answer though because I'm truly not trying to be a prick, just generate a few laughs.
Do I believe that the 60+ million voters for Trump are racists? No, absolutely not. I'd bet the majority of them are decent people who truly want the best for this country and the people in it - regardless of their race, religion, etc.
But to give you my perspective - I'm a registered Republican in Texas. I see the nasty underbelly of the Republican party and Trump supporters every day. So my perception is going to be skewed. And when I see the president continuously go on television and make a mockery of every institution we have - such as 5 minutes ago when he claimed counting all votes is fraud, and claimed he's won states that haven't been called by any reputable source - it only further cements my view.
So am I biased? Yes, absolutely. 100%. I'll admit that. But mostly I just want this election to be over and to rebuild as a sane and rational country.
You think the average Trump fan makes that distinction? Can someone explain how he's "won" the election yet is claiming fraud by Democrats. Not much of a fraud if so.
Well said and appreciate it, friend. Maybe there is hope yet? What's fascinating here to me is we started with you being rather stubborn and me being rather cold, and then we had a laugh and amicable moments, and now you're posting a really thorough, thoughtful, nuanced and clear answer that was not only insightful and enjoyable to read but also allows me to see exactly why you have the point of view that you do, precisely what that point is, and how you got there. Admittedly we got here luckily thanks mainly to your wit and secondarily my decision to embrace it, but the point is somehow we've made progress!
Which hopefully brings it back to my original point that there is a way through to these people. We just need you present at every discussion ever to drop some cute little one liners and we might keep figuring it out. ;)
I believe so but Trumps lead in the rust belt is quite large at the moment - but it only takes 1 to fall and Biden is President unless he loses Nevada and wins Wisconsin.Aren't they adding in postal votes later up there?
Wait until all the votes have been counted, the majority of the ones not counted were postal and urban. How can the polls be so wrong again?
