Is that why the mail-in ballots are so weighted towards the Democrats?

Slightly unusual because mail-in ballots over here are weighted more towards the Tories who appeal more to the older voter so it's surprising to read such a predominance of mail-in ballots for the Democrats.

Trump lost seniors with his handling of Covid and basically saying they could be sacrificed. That and being a twat of course which some senior don't favour.

I do find it strange that people don't factor in mail-in voting for Republicans.

Not really, it still worked, less people will still end up voting Dem because of it and it gives them the opportunity to mess with mail in voting to try and stop that as well. How many thousands of mail in votes will have "lost their way" and not made it in time, we'll probably never know but it will be a lot.

It's also going to be center stage for the next few months when they try and steal the election by claiming mail in voting is fraud

Presumably some of this is an effect of covid making lots of people not wanting to crowd together, and trying to avoid the shenanigans being conducted to make voting difficult.

That's what I'm presuming, too. And since, in a general way, Democrats and their supporters seem to be more in favour of restrictions on individuals in the current pandemic than the Republican party and the president (with all the caveats that that generalisation imposes), I think it's a fair guess that postal votes will be weighted in favour of the Democrats. Trump and his advisors have known that for weeks.

Remember the reason for mail in voting this year - coronavirus.

The polling numbers that were posted the other day for opinions on masks, how dangerous coronavirus is etc. We're almost beyond belief.

A lot of Republicans just don't care about avoiding a virus so why vote by mail?

It's around 100k diff which can be made up by the remaining blue counties.

About 320k left to count so Biden needs them to be about 2:1 in his favour.

I think Biden will win Michigan, Nevada, Wisconsin and pennsylvania. If he gets Georgia as well it's a landslide.
