He has a helluva job to do Biden, I wish him well. I don’t know much about American politics it’s a bit false for me but that guy has suffered some awful personal tragedies.

Good luck fella.

Who was it who said "it's the economy, stupid"? I forget.

But when it comes down to it, most people are selfish. Most people vote for who they think will deliver the best deal for themselves. And most people don't like higher taxes - taking *their* money off them - to give it to *other people*. They don't like *other people* telling them what to do. They want their own freedom.

That is why so many Americans are Republicans.
I honestly think that if it hadn't been for the coronavirus, he would have been voted in again. There was some stat going round that a president has never failed to be reelected if unemployment is below a particular level (I can't remember what it was), and at the time, unemployment in the US wasn't too bad. Then coronavirus came along and loads of people lost their jobs. I think unless the economy is tanking, they tend to get a second term. So yeah, I wonder how much of it is a rejection of his rhetoric, and how much is just current circumstances.

Anyone heard about the Republican challenge in the supreme court? - can't see anything on the bbc. I only heard about it on Maajid Nawaz LBC show earlier. Might all be bollocks, but MJ is far from being RW or in Trumps corner as far as I know.
I'll summarise it for you. "He won. We lost. He must have cheated. It's not fair."

Such a weird fucking setting. Would no hotel give them a conference room to do it?
There is a pub, that I managed for awhile, less than 1/2 mile from there. It is full of Trump supporters and United fans. Why they wouldn't have their news conference there is beyond me. The spot they chose is well known in the neighborhood as a place to shoot up or get a $10 bj from those ladies who can't afford to shoot up yet. They probably fit right in.
Viva Joe Biden!!! Good luck!!!

Good for America, good for the planet & human race that Trump was defeated but a reminder that while this dangerous clown is done, half of the US supports him - meaning the US remains a mess and a lot of work lays ahead

Biden is an astonishingly poor candidate from a disgustingly corrupt party that railroaded one of their own (Bernie) twice in successive elections. As many activists have commented from the outset of Biden getting the nomination to face Trump, were he to win then the work would have to begin the next day to hold Joe accountable & ensure he does the right things. That sounds more promising than the alternative but it remains a very divided country

The problem I still see with the US is that much like when Obama was elected, many will dance & clap like at the end of so many American films when they are nowhere near the end of needed efforts. Let's hope apathy does not set in and business as usual does not continue with the Dems of coddling special interests and maintaining the status quo

Didn't take long for Farage to start doing the rounds - wouldn't surprise me if he's on Andrew Marr tomorrow

Maybe even that lot have enough self awareness not to be seen in a place frequented by rags - they have low standards but even so they have their level. Begs the question why were you frequenting such a hell hole? And don't say work you have already given away that you could have been outside earning $10 per blow job lol

I think that's essentially the basis of it - same bollocks as he tried with the state judiciary but has now taken it to the supreme court. I've no idea how US legal system works, but imagine this is the same as us not getting our way in court here and going to high court or ECJ?
