Looking likely the winner of this game will play England in the quarter final. PNG are quality so will be them I reckon and will be a tough game for England.

England have a great chance. We should have bloody won the last World Cup, we were the better team in that 2017 final and had them on the ropes in the last quarter of the game.

I think we have a better pack than Aus, such a shame Walmsley isn’t fit n’all. But Australia’s 1 6 7 9 and 13 (and interchange 9) are as good, if not better, than they ever have been though.

New Zealand are rated #1 in the world at the moment, they have a shout. Tonga, Samoa (ignore that England result, it’s the first time that team have ever played together and it’s more about the next 8 years for them than it is this tournament) and Papua New Guinea are all very good sides but it’s very unlikely any of them will win it.

It’s the highest quality in depth across teams there’s ever been in the sport though.

I went to the game last night. I celebrated Ireland’s tries like I was back on the Kippax. New Zealand have some tremendous athletes and great finishers.

The ref bottled the obvious sending off offence they would have seen the Kiwis down to 12 for most of the game.
