2022 World Cup Discussion

Nope, I can't. Which is why I'm not listening to a single word of their pontificating. If they're that impassioned, let's see how many LGBT marches they join when they get back to England. I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark at zero.
They don’t give two fucks and being completely honest nor do I. Absolutely nothing against any minorities, live and let live but like most others I have my own life to lead. It’s a corrupt World Cup facilitated by bent FIFA and covered by an agenda, click bait driven media. Who knew freedoms in Qatar wouldn’t be the same as the Western World?

The opening ceremony was moved earlier by the Qatari FA at short notice.

The BBC had committed to showing a WSL match before their World Cup coverage began at 3pm for a 4pm kick off.

It was available to watch on the iPlayer should you have wanted to watch it.

Were the BBC a disgrace for showing the WSL match they had already agreed to show, or should they have aborted the WSL game at half time to pander to the Qatari’s change of timings?

Are you a long standing viewer of opening ceremonies, or is it just this one that wasn’t shown that has provoked your ire?
Always like to watch opening ceremonies Olympics winter games etc as I like to see different cultures . Didn’t check I player as I didn’t think I needed to as terrestrial tv has always shown it . Was it already over when the coverage started at 3 pm ?

Only good thing to come out of last night is he now may make changes. I’d like to see:

Walker. Stones. Maguire
Arnold. Shaw
Rice. Or philipps

Saka. Foden. Grealish

Kane or Wilson

Well, he was pressured by the ITV interviewer as to why he didn’t play Foden

So now he probably won’t out of stubbornness, so it doesn’t look like he was pressured into it

As I have no interest in international football I would like to see Portugal, England and Belgium knocked out of the group stage, then we can have 8 of our first teamers back and ready for the season re-start.

Can’t help but feel the same

Double like

I think a clear theme developing is the amount of success the 'plucky fighters' are having. Japan, Saudi, Ecuador, USA spring to mind.

I don't mean to disrespect those teams, as they can play well in bursts, but they play with aggression that has rarely been allowed on the international stage, coupled with immense energy, means that a new style is being allowed to flourish. Basically, those traditional big teams that aren't on top form are really struggling. England dodged a bullet, Germany and Argentina didn't.

Looking forward to Argentina v Mexico, the fans have already had a go at each other.
It will be shithouse central, with a bit of niggle & i hope its a classic

My father raised a good point about this WC, no player has stood out yet with a good performance. Early doors I know, but true. What do others think?

Richarlison maybe?
