Gary Neville’s reasoning is “it’s better to be out there and spread awareness than sat at home” - ok Gaz, fair enough, so go out there and spread the important message, but refuse to accept a penny for doing so, that’s the right thing to do if your morals are in the place you always portray. I’d respect it if he did that. Will he? Absolutely not.

The truth is, I don’t care if people go out there and get paid. We all own stuff made in terrible conditions and what not. They should just be honest about it, they’re going for the dough and they don’t really care as much about the other stuff they preach about.

I prefer Beckham’s recent shameless approach rather than Neville talking out the side of his mouth about human rights while lining his pockets.

My sentiments to a word.
This weekend we have the final of the DP World golf in Dubai, The Abu Dhabi grand prix, are not premier league clubs off to the middle east to play a sponsored tournament during the break.
They should picket the shilling and keep quiet.

Landed at 6am Qatar time ( 3am English time). Doha Airport had me thinking of the Mike Bassett film with every nation represented but minus the scenes. Many more Welsh than English on my Manchester flight but dozen or so from Equador,Canadians and yanks. Off England iran tomorrow followed by USA v
Wales as only 8 miles separates the stadia. Got a game a day France v Australia on Tuesday may see my Haaland or Oil club t-shirt donned in the ground.

Not too surprising that he's moved to the Middle East as he does have a wife of Lebanese heritage who still has relatives in the Gulf.
