Doubt that with southgate tbf, he likes plain boring functional players over the cavalier and technically gifted, Alexander -arnold only getting a call up because James was injured and Sancho getting totally binned off, both would be starters because of their clubs under some previous managers.

I am offended that you don't give a fuck about my opinions.

But seriously. Half a dozen Argentinians singing songs about French players' ethnicity and sexual orientation doesn't do much for me. Shouldn't really happen in this day and age but my offendometer has been recalibrated by too much insincere virtue signaling, so it will take more than that to have an effect on me, I am afraid.

Something less silly and more sinister, perhaps.

Since when did it become virtue signaling to condemn the racist and vile acts of certain fans? What's this hilarious "Alpha male" act that everyone seems to be on lately? It's like you spend 5 minutes on Twitter and the dailymail and next thing you're reborn as a tough guy! Virtue signaling? What the fuck are you talking of?

So much to unpack in that post and so little enthusiasm for doing it. Let's just agree to say you found those songs silly and offensive and I found them silly and not very offensive (apart from maybe the "running beautifully" line, which is something of a lazy trope when aimed at people of African ethnicity).

Can't be bothered discussing it any more, frankly. Too much already,
 
Well, I was dead wrong about the outcome of USA v. England. All USA need do now is to win versus Iran - perhaps easier said than done.

Having seen all teams play now (I'm watching every WC game), I think that Brazil are favorite to win. Brazil are a complete team with a very strong defense coupled with a good offence. I was particularly impressed with their defense against a strong Serbian side who were trying to aggressively press.

As you say, they are strong in attack and defence, but play with practically one midfielder with defensive contributions. It worked against Serbians, I'm curious to see how they'll lineup against better sides. But they can fairly easily change the approach, they have decent players to bring in midfield, likes of Bruno Guimares.
France on the other hand looks more balanced and perhaps better depth of squad than anyone else.

Strange player, at times stunning and intelligent but a weird attitude and goes missing far too often.
 
Adrien Rabiot, please will someone tell me how this guy gets into the French National team on a regular basis and has played for top clubs, simply don't see what he brings to any team.
