2022 World Cup Discussion

I've seen it mentioned a few times how shit the ref was for our game.
I don't know if my memory is playing tricks on me but I can only remember the foul not given on Saka as being a bad call.
Not saying he wasn't shit but I don't remember any other stand out moments.
It was throughout the game. He was very one sided

I thought they showed it was out of the area ?
Ref didn't see an offence and VAR can only advise on penalty incidents. VAR couldn't be sure it was on the line so no pen, so no free kick either. One of those that doesn't get given as anything due to VAR protocol.

Lots of fouls on the edge of area not given especially with Griezmann took a while for him to even be booked. Harry Kane not given a blatant penalty as well before we got the first pen
I forgot about the Kane one. It was outside the area but the ref should have awarded something and then let var figure out the rest.

I don't know. I have got used to City having to be good enough to beat the ref as well, so I wasn't really seething about his performance. Wasn't there a bit of English falling over early doors as well that may have caused the ref to be more lenient on tackles? I seem to remember that, but it was 3 in the morning here, so I am not sure I was completely compos mentis.

I don't remember Wally. I do remember ranting at something so it could well have been him.
He didnt give the penalty that Kane missed and that was a blatantly dodgy decision. VAR forced his hand by sending him to the monitor and then he had no choice as it was so clear, but he looked very pissed off at having to give it

In terms of refereeing he also missed the foul on Harry Kane and the penalty that was given by VAR . He let Griezmann away with a lot of fouls before booking him late on..
I don't think he was actually biased just not very good, but my own opinion is that most of the refereeing has been fairly poor in the WC.
A lot of the reason why there has been so little attacking play from anyone is that niggling fouls are being ignored or not carrying a booking allowing offenders to repeat with impunity and decreasing opportunities to attack.

But in the other hand diving twats aren’t getting free kicks every two minutes. Still think the reffing has been shite though.

Anyone think this World Cup has been rigged for a Messi & Mbappe final with the PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaïfi? (Who somehow is on the Fifa the committee board) The decisions in the Argentina game against Holland & our game against France do make me feel twice. Messi on a yellow card & makes deliberate hand ball not sent off & many other controversial decisions. We all know how shit the ref was against France

Surely he would have also wanted Neymar in the semi final at the least.

These are the eight referees left in line to referee the final. It will be reduced to seven if Morocco win tomorrow, as the USA official was born In Morocco. It’s also on the assumption that as in the past, no officials involved in the semi finials will also be used in the final.

No, definitely not.

The mad thing is,and this is presuming Argentina do win the cup, that when their list of results are put up,that they lost to Saudi Arabia in their first game, and people,(including me),were thinking wow, imagine they don't get out of group,it's pretty remarkable that they have got to the final at all.

Same thing happened in 1990.
Lost 1st game and got to the final
