20MPH Speed Limit - Wales

Its a load of fuss over nothing. Someone will be bimbling along at 20 and you get frustrated for a minute or two but then someone races past and you all end up stopped at the same red light on a junction anyway. Not a drama at all
If you had been driving at the correct speed in the first place we'd have both got through the lights but noooooo, you were desperately trying to find 'that station' that has Ken Bruce on all the while thinking about that lbw the umpire didn't give and you just know he doesn't like you, crumpets, yes crumpets for tea, with jam, oh look there's Dorothy, she's going to Church. Police car, what police car, well why doesn't he have his flashing lights on, oh he does...... and his siren, well it can't be me, I'm only doing 28 and this is a 30 I'll have you know. 'Same to you officer' oh they are so rude these young uns oh here we are Ken Bruce. It's his pop quiz. I can listen whilst the lights are on red.

:-)

Leave him alone whilst he is bimbling along.....at 20 mph.

I think Oldham have adopted the 20mph limit without actually telling anyone, the amount of bloody roadworks. Lucky to get to the dizzy heights of 20mph.

Some mornings I feel like doing a Michael Douglas in Falling Down and just getting out of my car and walking. Be faster.

.... If only. Main arterial routes (A roads) through towns and cities are mostly 20mph.

Just try driving at 20mph in a 30mph zone. You will be surprised how difficult it is when you're on an empty, wide road to drive at 20mph... and then when there are hills, another major headache.

I urge you all to try it just so you can experience the difficulty.

Not on housing estates or outside schools or hospitals or town centres which you will find the majority of people will agree with, but on a main arterial routes. Just try it.
You find driving at 20mph on an empty wide road difficult?

Is your car broken?

The site where I work has a 20 mph limit. There is a long road that runs through the middle of the site which is pretty wide & straight and is absolutely no bother in pootling along at 20mph. It's just a mindset.
You're right it is a mindset, when we went to 20 about 2 years ago it was easy to do but just felt really odd. Now just seems normal. though as I said previously, the average people do is around 25.
