Don't mind me, I'm just taking the piss.

It's not really about why you don't rate him, it's about me trying to get my head around how you'd expect more from those types of signings and why you'd be anything other than grateful for what they achieve relative to those initial expectations.

“Don’t mind me, I’m just taking the piss”

I’m devastated 8-)

I don’t thinks Zinchenko or players like him need our gratitude he got well paid, he was able to win medals that he probably wouldn’t have done at the vast majority of clubs. He didn’t get booed and he got applauded if he deserved it. I’m sure Zinchenko was grateful for playing for a manager and coaching staff as good as ours, in a team with outstanding players.

Of course. Pretty much all of that applies to every player who has been at the club for the last decade or so. Even the greats.

Think Gomez is a better prospect than Zinny, better shot, better vision, better on free kicks , good on the ball but does panic with rash challenges.
Zinny strengths more mental toughness, didn't panic so much defending, good competitor, good football brain.
Prefer Sergio as a prospect nit lb though.

We haven’t had a specialist left back for years. We even had a right back playing at left back. If Sergio is to get a place in this team he’ll have to get past so many top attacking players just to get a start.

He’s not a defender as long as he’s got a hole in his arse
However he could be a really useful midfielder or winger, where he played for Spain U21s
His delivery from wide, especially set pieces, was superb
Also interesting that he was the obvious leader on the field who they all deferred to, even when they brought on supposed City targets like Veiga and Riquelme

Never a left back but could possibly I say possibly do a job as a winger his crosses are absolutely on the money ..

Same as Kalvin Phillips I'll give him a clean slate. The squad is thin as it is.

Same with the others it is too early to judge their overall impacts but it was a decent second half run out from Gomez.

Outstanding today. Hasn't made any mistakes, displayed great crossing, very effective dribbling and ball control, good cooperation with the players around him, created a lot of chances for us, involved in the goal. Perhaps most importantly, he oozed confidence all around. He was a different player playing in Jack's role.
