23rd September 1989

- turn around to look at the pitch to see Lakey take a shot - saved then Tricky Trevor pokes it in - never in my life have I been part of such a release as when that second goal went in - the kippax shook - when I finally breathed again I felt like I was going to die of a heart attack -
Described it perfectly pal - that moment will stay with me til the day I die

Just been watching the highlights again.

A truly memorable day,

September 23rd 1989 will always be special in my eyes and totally worth celebrating every anniversary.

The day, the era, the music scene, the vibe, a balmy autumn sunshine day.......it was just special and will always be worth talking about!!

Until we moved house I used the date for our digital house alarm, that way I had a constant reminder of the great day.

Still easily in my favourite top 5 ever attended games.
It is right up there in the history of MCFC and match going fans from that era. City have had better more important wins but the circumstances around this one made it special

Times flies.

Was there with my old man and my rag uncle who put a £1 bet on David Oldfield scoring.

It was the first time I witnessed football violence live as all those rag bastards kicked off in the north stand and we're moved to a pen in the old platt lane.

I thought that was going to be the zenith of supporting city watching us spank those cunts.

Was working and living in Bude Cornwall at that time, drove up to Stafford with the Mrs stayed over in B&B and got the train in to Manchester.Great day weather warm back on train after the game lots of Rags going south.
