I would say that the general opinion is:
Anyone comes into your property withntge intent to cause harm/steal gets whats coming to them.
That yes the lad was very stupid for pursuing and deserved some form of punishment
And that the scrotes punishment was lenient and that punishments would have been better served if reversed
