Just said we have a very special player in Alvarez and this dude come under the same category.

The fact that he is 21 and has walked into the best team in the world and looks comfortable is scary.
 
Slick as fook. I have loyalty to every single one of the other defenders after their mammoth performances last year but this guy is too good to be sat on the bench.

He’ll obviously be a starter before the end of the season, just interesting to see who drops out. Like Ake but it’d be a shame. But so would any of the defenders.
 
The time has come to bump up Gvardiol’s share of the minutes and lower Ake’s. Harsh on Ake after last season but Gvardiol is the better player.
 
Would have made a massive difference against Wolves from the start. I know it’s now a squad game, but he should be in the starting team alongside Dias for most if not all of the games until he looks as if he needs a rest.

Nah... The opposite. They should both start if you really want Josko to be free to go ahead instead of sitting back. The goal they scored was the fine example why Josko needs Ake to protect from behind. That is why Pep brought on Ake.

The problem with that is it’s difficult to not pick Dias even when his form isn’t great as he’s a leader back there, and Stones is back now. So it’s more difficult than ever to play Gvardiol AND Ake. It’ll mostly be one or the other.

I think you’re right but the balance Pep finds with the rotation at the back is to be admired ; it’s a small step down when ake comes in but manageable…

No doubt where the future lies though!

It's the harsh reality of football at the very, very top. I'm not sure if Ake is carrying an injury or what but he's looked like he's running in treacle all season.
 
Still have no idea what his best attribute is considering the hype he came with.
 
Not sure how anyone could be down on him after today. He was by far our best player. Insanely progressive when on the ball. Absurd at wide duels. He was nearly perfect. Early indications are that he’s going to be world class for a very long time.

Completely agree. His passing needs tightening up at times but he defended extremely well against a tough player in Jesus.
