That goal was not on him, he did what he did expecting his keeper to do what he should do, not on him when the keeper does something different.

The goal wasn’t on him. Ortega had no right being where he was. You leave your defender to deal with it in that situation. Ortega showed an Eddie level of rashness.

ESPN published their top 20 defenders for 23-24 this week. Walker was #4, Stones #6, Ruben #17 and Joško #18.
They did say if City sign a LB, Joško will “may face a battle to win a regular spot if he has to compete” with the other CBs. Which seemed a bit odd to imply he’s not as good as Ake and Akanji but then not include them on the list! That said, the rankings seemed a bit random (eg, I love Grealish but don’t know if he was a top 30 attacker this year).
