24 | Joško Gvardiol - 2024/25

Another factor is age, he's 22 I think we all forget how young he is and as a result he will have dips of form.

He is one hell of a talent, an incredible footballer and could become a great if he keeps learning and working hard.
Yes, he's very clever at times on the ball. There's been a lot of mistakes though recently which happens with a lot of defenders in their career. Once these are ironed out he'll be top notch.

The more I see this guy play the more I'm convinced we need to turn him into a central midfielder. He's just too good at football to be a defender! He has everything in his locker. I want him involved in everything we do on the pitch for the next 10 years. Just needs to cut out the occasional brainfart but that would be less damaging played in midfield.

Obviously we need to buy some actual full backs first!

I think 2 of those goals we conceded against Feyenoord show why Pep won't be playing him in central midfield any time soon!

He's a rolls royce (99% of the time) on the ball though. There could be a lot more to come from him there and wouldn't surprise me if Pep pulls off a madness at some point and Gvardiol ends up getting 10-15 goals from full back in a season

When Pep plays him and Rico, and since only one of them can push up, he will always have that be Rico every time becauae Gvardiol is more appropriate in the back 3.

But he isnt good enough in that role, his defending is only good as the fullback that attacks, not as one of the back 3.
