He’s one of the very few in our team who can actually put a tackle in, and he did well again today linking up with Doku, fucking mad indeed
put a tackle in?!? What?!? you people are watching a different match, man

Pep , please take this lad out of the firing line, he is completely shattered, a wonderful, classy player that's been run into the ground.

Agree he’s been massively overplayed. But there’s just no scope for resting him, when the other defenders are all so physically fucked.

Player of the season for us,Considering he’s been playing out of position, hopefully playing in his rightful position next season IF and I mean IF we dare to get a left back

It could cost us badly, I can see him breaking down ala Stones, Ake, Dias.

Salah is playing every 3 days & he is 33 i think

And he fine
Did fuck all last season under Klopp and was not playing at the end of that season, he also had a full summer off.

I may be very susceptible but does coming into the last year of a contract also come into the mix?

He wants a huge new contract, that's big motivation and the dippers still seem reluctant to give it him.

Our players have not had a proper pre-season for 2 years and that's caught up and we have messed up big time with recruitment.

This "hes not playing his position" cope is seriously getting laughable. Been playing left back for us for 2 years for crying out loud. that is his position. When will you deal with reality. What centerback worth 90m can't have learned how to defend as leftback by now. Do you think he'll magically stop sucking if he played CB?

Not that he hasn't played CB - in fact about 25% of his minutes this season came at CB! but apparently there's some magical defender in there that we haven't seen in those minutes. Give me a break.

It’s universally accepted that Gvardiol, Foden and Haaland are amongst the best players of their generation, yet none of them are having their talents maximised - and the common factor is Pep.

Gvardiol cost what he did because he was the best young ball playing central defender in world football, but has hardly been used as one here, and it’s sabotaging his development in the same way Foden’s has been.

The way he’s being used is even more idiotic given that the only fit alternatives in the centre of defence are primitive in possession, and lacking the progressive passing that the team needs to function effectively, especially in Rodri’s absence.

Ultimately, he’s one of numerous players in the squad for whom the next manager can’t arrive soon enough.

Only 18 goals & 10 asissts :)

Anyway, if a player didn't have enough rest then the manager should rotate more with whoever is ready and available until the first choice player become ready.

Actually, I Would rather see O'Reilly as our LB more than Josko now

At least I know that it will not be easy to dribble past him
He keeps & pass the ball well

Josko has had some absolutely world-class games at left-back, but he’s also had his struggles. By the end of last season, you could argue he was the best left-back in the world. And despite everything, in my eyes, he’s still been one of our best performers over the last year at the age of 23.

The biggest issue right now is that he’s being overplayed. On top of that, he’s gone from playing as a center-back to being a left-back who’s also expected to push up like a winger so our actual "winger" can move inside. That means he’s constantly high up the pitch and has to sprint back to recover, which naturally leaves him out of position.

Another thing that hurts him is his tendency to always try and keep the ball in play instead of just clearing it when necessary. This is something he has to work on for sure.

And honestly, our overall performances this season haven’t helped at all. The midfield offers little to no cover for the defense and we can’t even keep the same center-back pairing for two games in a row. With no stability at the back, it’s no surprise that the entire defense has been struggling.

That said, when he has a real winger in front of him, like against Tottenham, you can see how much more settled he looks. Without the burden of constantly having to create going forward, his defensive game looks sharper and he can still add value offensively with his passing and runs.

Great tactical insight, man on internet.

Is this the Foden that last season was player of the season and scored/assisted 27 in 33 appearances, is this the Haaland that scored/assisted 32 in 33 games and the Gvaridol that had a wonderful season at LB and scored numerous important goals to take us to our 4th title on the bounce?

I hope your fishing, if not you should be ashamed.
