That’s not fair. We send him to play second striker and expect to be perfect left defender.How many times has he got to get beaten on the wing before Pep admits Gvardiol can't play FB at this level?
Joško just needs good back up when attacking.

It is lovely to see him joining the attack but he needs to return to his defensive position quicker whenever the attack ends or shift to the other side. Otherwise it is a huge hole luckily Forest wingers were shit...
Attacking affects his defending. This is normal. And he is not attacking like a wing back. He changes few positions in the game.Fair enough but he's getting beat when he's at LB not when he's out of position

He's not a great defender at all and because Pep gives him the licence to attack he neglects his defensive duties even more/is so exhausted from being far up the pitch. Poor in one-on-ones and tries to overplay when it should be kept simple.
Makes the same mistakes over and over. A liability until he improves his defensive game. Don't care how many screamers he can score.

Think this guy is Rodri 2.0. Not in his position per se, but in his talent and progression.
He's Still so young but has all the tools, just needs the experience and maturity. His trajectory so far at city seems really similar to me. He might not end up in Rodris position but I think he will progress to be an amazing and infuential player, more likely in the Stones role but I wouldnt rule out the Rodri role.

Should be in midfield, being over worked tbh.
When it clicks, and it will, he will be amazing.
That fullback into left half space role (that Rico has done on the right) is so good for him.
The opposition will be surprised every time he makes those runs, he could have had 2 goals with more accuracy.
Perfectly being set up to do the Stones role, just from LB instead of CB.
