Didn’t the first goal come from a corner brought about by Rico fannying about?

Not sure it had anything to do with his side.
get with the program, everything is gvardiol’s fault.

i was literally told (not here) that he’s the only reason city are out of the ucl.

speaking of coaching.. can you tell some coaches in croatia to help kovacic grow a brain??

I've never seen a player be that braindead!
don’t talk to me about kovacic, you are not capable of normal conversation when it comes to players you hate and you hate him the most.

maybe you should seek help with your brain, with best intentions

Well, he did mess up against Feyenoord, costing us 2 points. That means we wouldn’t have drawn Madrid…

Not many full backs lock Salah out of games completely. Thiught Josko did pretty well today against him.

His goal came from a corner, so not his fault.

His error letting Salah in for the second goal could still have been rectified by the rest of the defence, but we played musical statues all round.

no no you misunderstood me, imho rodri was the player of the season. best player in the universe if u ask me. my point was, i always see on this forum that foden single-handedly won that title. imo it’s disrespectful to other players, esp rodri and then haaland but others too, joško included, but you never see anyone but foden mentioned.

i didn’t know of course what pep planned for gvardiol when he signed but i remember watching the burnley away last season, his first minutes for city, and i was asked “is gvardiol a winger now?”

a year and a half later and it’s obvious he wasn’t bought to play cb, when he was the best young cb in the world. and the vast majority of people here didn’t watch dinamo zagreb, rb leipzig and croatian national team regularly (if at all :D) so stop pretending that you know what he was like before city
I think its obvious rodri was the most imporant player last season. Not saying that others didn't contribute but last season doesn't happen without rodri.

I was literally asking what he was like because i haven't seen him play for any other teams.

Out of curiosity, would you be angry if he was a success here but not as a centre back?

well then, another stick to beat him up with :D

where’s the dude that wanted to slap him when you need him eh? :D

Unlike you I am not deluded.

oh rodri is just incredible, what can u say when a team doesn’t lose when he plays, a football deity.

he was really good, with room to improve with more experience and coaching of course. he was a lot more aggressive (like i said, his defending changed a lot at city), he lost a lot of weight here so he was more powerful. when ppl use the messi clip to say he’s shit, well, they should watch the games seriously, a 20 yo kid literally took his country to the knockout stages of the world cup and had a motm performance in the bronze medal game. he was literally the best wc defender. and our head coach doesn’t ever give young players a chance, even he had to fold on that and joško’s a first team starting player since he was 19.

not saying it was just him but leipzig won their first ever trophies after he joined them, back to back german cups. leipzig fans called him leonidas/gvardiator, a warrior!

it is not true that he cannot defend!

of course i wouldn’t be angry, i just think only time will tell if he ruined his career or not.

when it comes to fans, he will never be accepted imo and that’s kind of sad coz he’s a nice kid, doesn’t cause issues and will always try hard, but that price tag eh.

and btw his pace was an issue here often, very often even.

not a defender, ffs

i’m not deluded. having kova replace rodri of all people is a horrible idea, he’s not even a 6. but it was neither kova’s decision, nor mine.

leave me alone w your kova hating bs, you’re unwell and i can’t tell you what i really wanna tell you so just leave me alone

I'm not a hateful prick.

My point is you don't have to be Rodri to kick the ball into the stands. You just have to assess risk and decide. It's not that he's physically not good enough.. it's his decision making.

Even a high school footballer would have enough brain and football IQ to not kick the ball towards Vinicius Jr. But he does it again and again and again and simply takes on too much risk and gives the ball away.

So forgive me if I call a braindead player.. well "braindead".

another thing, like the last madrid game, he will run his ass off even when he’s furthest away and then if he fails he gets all the shit without asking wtf were the others doing. happened several times. he literally would be better off just jogging in the back, but not that type of player.
I really agree with this, have seen this happen to him several times this season, taking the heat for situations he hasn’t been able to stop happening but at least he has tried!

I really don’t think he was that bad today and seem to be limited going forward so don’t think we got to see the best of him.
I really don’t understand why he seems to get so much hate on here though, if he has a good game all I see is how he is the best LB in the world and then after a not so good game, he gets so much hate, seems to be no middle of the road where he is concerned.

He must be in the top 3 players for minutes played this season and just isn’t getting a decent rest. Add to that, most games he plays, he spends the whole game running the length of the pitch constantly. He must be exhausted.
He seems to be a player that suffers a bit with his confidence and in my opinion finds it hard to shake off mistakes and poor performances. When his confidence is high he really seems to build on that and just keeps getting better. He also seems to be really empathetic (often the first player to comfort others in times of injury or distress) so I imagine the teams current situation rests on his shoulders a lot. He could really benefit from a strong and regular leadership type which has obviously been missing this season.

His skill is definitely not in doubt for me. Think he is fantastic on the ball and so unique, I can’t wait to see how he gets on in the next few seasons!

I'm not a hateful prick and I don't hate you, your country, your countrymen and especially not Gvardiol. Heck I don't even hate Modric.

i literally said you hate kova. and i never said he did well there ffs. you on the other hand are screaming for days now all over this forum that he’s been city’s worst signing in 15 years. factually, he is not.

facts don’t care about my nationality, your hyper focus on kova and the stuff you’re writing indicates that you’re not well, but that’s not a me problem, that’s a you problem.

at this point even my fridge knows you think he’s shit so, again, leave me alone.

Ric asked a week or so back, player of season so far, there is a clear leader at this moment in time, and it’s this lad
mad, just mad. would genuinely put him near the bottom, i don't know hoe else you can interpret his season. basically every single game he's played he was shocking defensively. I feel like we've conceded so many that people have lost track on just HOW bad we've been defensively, and he's near the top in terms of responsibility. every single game he's out of possession, slow, getting cooked by wingers, weak. unable to tackle. how on earth does all of this amount to player of the season... world has gone mad

And our second leading goal scorer as well

He’s one of the very few in our team who can actually put a tackle in, and he did well again today linking up with Doku, fucking mad indeed
