Thought Fernandes was going to cry after the early one!

Had a couple of shaky moments in possession when they pressed early doors but when we let them come on to us his long diagonals balls out were brilliant.

Don't want to read the "rolled back the years" comments. He hasn't rolled back shit. He has been consistently 9/10 or 10/10 in every match for the last 5 years. He's not past it. His current level is world class in every fucking match he plays, there's literally no dip in his quality or performances. This isn't like Yaya in 16/17 when it was clear that his legs had completely gone.

The best CDM to ever play in the prem but will never get the recognition for it.

You can't honestly think the year he played at centre half he was 9/10 every week. You think he was as good as Dias and Stones are now?

Why do people have to go so overboard, just praise his excellent performance yesterday. He is not a fucking deity who never had a bad game, he has been brilliant for us over the years but has had terrible games just like Kevin, Yaya and everyone else has.

I can’t actually think of many bad games he’s had. Lyon at home in 2018 springs to mind but he’s so consistent he seldom has a bad game. What I like most with him is he always does what you want him to do. Whether that’s a snide challenge, long ball over the top, pass with his weaker foot.

Probably meant as a midfielder. In a way he never lost his place on merit. He was injured, then played centre back. Bringing in a younger holding midfielder was needed but Dinho still looks the best there.

I mean my memory might be wrong but wasn't he dropped on merit in the run in when Gundogan played that position and we won however many on the bounce?
