Solid most of the time and a bargain for the price, but he has that mistake in him; Brentford, Copenhagen, Spurs, and a few shaky moments even in the matches when he was good otherwise. I thought today he could have done better for their goal. A great backup to have, but next season, once we sign Gvardiol, I see him more as a reliable squad player and not our most played defender. Again, he has exceeded all expectations anyway. I think none of us expected he would have been as useful as he has been, so credit to him.

I think he'll end up becoming the new Zinchenko - everyone will be able to name a better replacement and everyone who replaces him won't quite be as good. He will never be top class, but he will be just good enough and flexible enough to be slightly irreplaceable.

Like Zinchenko, I bet Pep loves working with him as he gives it 100% and knows that he give every game his absolute best just to be in the team. I bet he's great in training and just does his absolute best - afterall, that's all we can ask from any City player.

Great teams always have players in who probably aren't the best in their position, but are just brilliant in the dressing room, great in training and who you love playing with. I had the feeling (if you can't tell!) Zinchenko and Akanji are in that bracket.

He's been a great buy and no one - least of all him - would've expected him to be a first team regular at right back, left back and in the centre.

Been one of our best and most consistent players this season, played all across the defence too, a managers dream, and a bargain to boot, one of a number of bargains we signed.

He and Ake have been superb all season. Akanji has been the Premier league bargain of the season and it tells you something when he is the go to man for Pep rather than any other defender of how much he is thought of at City.

Played more than any of our defenders this season. Anything but a back up.

Maybe because he is the back up :)

Back up RB, Back up left and right CB and now back up LB all adds up to more games than the rotated supposed first choices lol

He has been a bargain signing.

Oil money spoiling the prem again.

Has been shaky this season but in the main has been the ideal Zinchenko replacement.

He's a bit of an enigma.

His performance against Bayern was otherworldly but there's just something about his style of play that makes me think he could make a mistake at any moment. Reminds me a bit of Walker in that respect.

I will add that he has been generally excellent this season though, especially considering it's his first under Pep which is usually a period of adaptation for most players.
