Yeah you are right today was first time he looked not so great in the second half. I hope Sergio can regain Pep's trust - maybe midweek. He's not a right back, and its going to damage his confidence.
Hes not a fullback either, like Cancelo he plays at it.Yeah you are right today was first time he looked not so great in the second half. I hope Sergio can regain Pep's trust - maybe midweek.
Maybe but I do think he has the potential to fit into a Pep system - he's perhaps more aware of the touchline as opposed to a centre half moving out there. Similar for me with playing Stones or Ake as fullbacks we tend to be slow in our build up and today you saw that with Eddie taking so much more time to release it. Pep likes his fullbacks to be comfortable taking possession in tight spots.Hes not a fullback either, like Cancelo he plays at it.
Akanji is superb,as a centre back,he is being wasted at RB and potentially causing issues.Maybe but I do think he has the potential to fit into a Pep system - he's perhaps more aware of the touchline as opposed to a centre half moving out there. Either way Akanji has shown he's a quality player and a great addition to the squad - it must be hard finding playing time in the middle for all 4 of our centre backs. I actually think on current form he's perhaps better than Dias - not a bad situation for us to be in.
