Reminds me of a fast Demichelis.

Does everything with a kind of intellectual calmness, until that one time it doesn't quite work out...

Can't knock his contribution this season even it has been a little shaky at times. Still think we haven't seen the last of Laporte either.

He's been a brilliant signing with Stones , Dias & Laporte all having injury issues he has come in and shown his worth , he would walk into any other Premier league team £15m for a player of his quality is chicken feed.

We kept a clean sheet, so he and the defense should get some plaudits for that.

But him and Walker had some absolutely terrible passing, theres no way I could call that a top performance from either of them.

In a Pep team the defenders have to pass way better.

Even Ake has improved in this regard over time with us.

He underhits his passes. Too sloppy at times and got done on the goal line too easily. He does some things well but I’d rather he not be playing to be honest

Clean sheet today despite him.
In the period before our 2nd goal when Newcastle came at us he nearly cost us twice.
Roll on the return of the Stones / Dias partnership

Don't think he was too bad today and for 15m we paid, he is well worth the money but he is the worst of our 5 centre halves.
Not surprised laporte wants out when Akanji is being picked ahead of him.

Some of his passing today was dreadful. There was a passage of play where Newcastle were going for it, with still a long time left, where Newcastle just need the ball keeping away from them, and Ederson Aké Dias and Rodri moved the ball away from their press in tight spaces very well and gave it to Akanji and it was him - in loads of space under no pressure with nobody near him - who just played it straight to Newcastle for them to attack again.

He’s done the same in many games. United away being the biggest one that’s stuck with me.
