Didn't really fancy for this one before the game but I thought he did very well. His pace came in handy at times getting back to help out when they were breaking. Glad to see him back on form

You say he didn’t show for the ball enough but I think that may have been by design. Pep probably knows his limits and he seemed to pick up a dummy role ahead of kova and Rodri at times to allow more space and times to everybody else.

I’m a FA qualified coach (but only level 1), have watched football for 30 years, played to a fairly decent standard and is my passion.

With all that said, I know a very small fraction as what Pep knows and it’s hard enough to fully understand his tactics, let alone the nuances of it.

You make a great point, whether it is right or not I have no idea. As a fan you base your decisions on what you see, our wingers suffer from this a lot with the ball backwards to FB or CM. Pep is encouraging going from side to side being patient waiting for the gaps, but all want Grealish/ Foden to take on the opposing FB.

I could be one of them thinking he was not that impressive but Pep loves that he is following his game plan perfectly which is helping City to play in the way he thinks gives maximum chance of success.

Easily Man of the Match along with Foden. Everyone stepped up but he was impressive turning up everywhere. ✨

It is not the first mistake. This is your assumption. I don't want to waste more time by listing his previous mistakes. Let us close it here.
Why not use that time to list his accomplishments and strong points? Everyone makes mistakes! I know this would probably blow your mind but believe it or not even Pep makes mistakes.

He did a good tidy job in this role, much better than last time.

But defo not motm.

Kova was by far the next best player to Foden.

Happy for Akanji as a swiss army knife defender though.

Everyone has a good game and standard is so high usually it’s hard to choose. Kova adds goals to his game and it is game over for everyone. :O

random observation: when Julian scored the first goal vs Fulham, Akanji was jogging by the penalty spot as the ball rolled in

Excellent performance. Didn’t get bettered in any situation once.
