97% pass completion rate, comfortably the highest on the pitch last night

It’s quite a damning stat for someone who said sloppy in possession.

However, there were times when he passed back a lot to Dias it wasn’t to the player and he had to run back to get it, it slowed us down. We retained possession and would go down as a completed pass but was a sloppy pass for me.

It’s my view and I’m in the minority, so could be wrong and happy to be so.

Plus we’re lucky we have one of the best judges of footballers in the world and if he continues to play him there, then he is doing a good job.

I’m not the fan Pep asked to sit in his seat :-)

When does he ever not have good defenders around him playing for City?

If you don't rate him, you are welcome to your opinion but it is a horrible take on a player that can fill in anywhere along the backline and not drop his level of contribution, probably the very definition of consistent.
Do you remember his horrible mistake in the UEFA Champions League? He sometimes repeat these sort of mistakes.

Must have seen something different, felt he was a little sloppy in possession, in the wrong position at times and didn’t show for the ball enough.

Whilst this is obviously a criticism, I don’t mean anything by it against the guy. Early days, out of position and a tough game against a good midfield.

Out of possession he got back into the CB role well.
You say he didn’t show for the ball enough but I think that may have been by design. Pep probably knows his limits and he seemed to pick up a dummy role ahead of kova and Rodri at times to allow more space and times to everybody else.

Wow, player makes one mistake shocker.

Rodri should be dropped for ten matches for his piss weak back pass yesterday.

The fact is, he gets picked by the boss for a reason, you'll have to square that away in your own mind.

Some of BM posters have clearly missed out on fantastic football careers.

It is not the first mistake. This is your assumption. I don't want to waste more time by listing his previous mistakes. Let us close it here.

Close it however you want, but the guy has been class for us, no matter what you believe.

All footballers make mistakes, those that dislike a footballer use those mistakes to highlight their hate while ignoring mistakes by their more favoured players.

Happens on this site on a daily basis.

If we dropped players for the amount of mistakes you are talking about we wouldn't be able to field a team after a month.

Dias makes mistakes, he isn't a machine.

Like I said square it away in your own mind, you won't get many people agreeing with you on how bad Akanji is.
