I think he played the Stones role yesterday

Must have seen something different, felt he was a little sloppy in possession, in the wrong position at times and didn’t show for the ball enough.

Whilst this is obviously a criticism, I don’t mean anything by it against the guy. Early days, out of position and a tough game against a good midfield.

Out of possession he got back into the CB role well.

Doesn’t get much of a mention, but his fitness levels and mobility around the pitch are much, much improved from when he first turned up and that’s really helping him in his new position.

I thought he did very well last night given that it’s genuinely only the second time he has played in that role. Stones is obviously more comfortable there but his move into midfield developed over a couple of years, whereas Akanji has had to do it pretty much overnight.

I normally don't rate him, but yesterday he played ver well. I think when good defenders around him to support him, he normally do well. And he also good in passing to the middle and front line. So, he needs to be consistence In his performance.

When does he ever not have good defenders around him playing for City?

If you don't rate him, you are welcome to your opinion but it is a horrible take on a player that can fill in anywhere along the backline and not drop his level of contribution, probably the very definition of consistent.
