Felt he did well under unnecessary pressure. I've no idea why pep had him go 1v1 with Beto who is a tank. Playing right into their hands doing that.

All we had to do was sit walker infront of him and every time they played up to him and he holds the ball up or wins a freekick is dealt with comfortably by the two of them.
 
My biggest issue with him, is that there is an absolute chasm between the things he is good at, vs the things he is garbage at…

1v1 battles on the deck, in the channels…as good as anyone.
1v1 battles in the air…soft as shit
 
I think he's a lot better in the hybrid role than he gets credit for. Obviously it doesn't look completely natural and I'm not saying he has all the attributes needed to play as an actual midfielder but neither does Stones. He's being asked to perform a difficult job due to John's injury troubles and is doing it pretty well in my opinion.

He is.

He sprayed some beautiful one-time balls out to the wings with both feet. He played better in there than Stones did in the first half before his injury.
 
His distribution places players under pressure and as a result causing dangerous problems, as a defender good back up but I'd move him on and find better quality, with Stones injury record and Gvadiol age we could do with another couple of defenders in
 
One slack pass apart, a really good performance. Showed excellent speed to close down their best attack in the first half, pushed forward into midfield when Kovacic went off, and was even pushing into right-wing territory by the end. Such an intelligent player.
 
Suprised only one comment about his game today but i taught he was our best defender. No idea why he finishdd the game up top though
