Massively underrated how good that performance was tonight. Was by no means perfect but he’s playing a role that is close to impossible for 99% of CB’s to play. It was only his second time in doing so also. Add to that he struggled in Athens and he’s up against an incredibly organised, high energy / strong pressing team and I don’t think we could of asked for much more. Didn’t ever hide, felt like he was everywhere and was really strong in all his defensive actions. Grass is always greener for some though and I don’t think they quite realise what we have at times.
 
Not everyone's cup of tea,but his versatility and his willingness is unrivalled.

He had a superb game last night,and his post match interview revealed a very intelligent and likeable character.

100% and against a very, very solid Newcastle midfield three, too. They have a stronger central midfield core than anyone bar us and Arsenal (and potentially Chelsea, but we’ll see about that)
 
Seems like he generally plays his best when out of position. Really good squad player to have.
