A lad I work with doesn't like him because...... "he's too slow and can't get back". I'm currently trying to get him sacked (not Manu)!!!!!Best player in a orangey-yellow/cream/blue/pink shirt tonight by a distance in my eyes. One of the few to perform at the level we expect and his pace is Invaluable.
Player ratings for defenders are routinely like this. I’m pretty sure every game any given defender gets both the highest and lowest rating somewhere.Akanji: Stepped up into midfield whenever he could and hoovered up anything at the back that came his way. 7
Manuel Akanji - Stepped forwards into midfield but regularly lost out. Even managed a handful of shots on goal.6
Manuel Akanji : Started as a centre-back but played further up the pitch in a Rodri-like role, at times, when City were on the ball. Was never going to be as effective as the injured Spaniard, but looked solid enough in his various positions.8
My gripe with Akanji is he often just moves the ball too slowly despite having a lot of ittoo soft at times for my liking, id like to give dias and ake a run as starters, those two love defending and are always switched on
I've said this before, but he's the absolute perfect example of a player who you point to and shows why mentality is such an essential trait in a player. Don't get me wrong, I love his game and realise his importance, but as you said, he's not switched on all the time and is sometimes not near aggressive enough for me.too soft at times for my liking, id like to give dias and ake a run as starters, those two love defending and are always switched on
