When I saw him step up all I could think is “he’ll miss this”. But even ignoring the penalty he had another anonymous performance - which is strange because he can absolutely do it against top European teams.
So what gives? It has to be a mentality problem.

In Champions League,with the odd exception(Atletico) you get way more space in which to operate as other teams try to actually play their game rather than parking the bus hoping they can keep us out for 90mins.

Very good footballer, but a shite penalty. Overall poor today and did very little to impact the game.

The guy who said that he despised him can’t be anything but a racist. You can dislike a player, not rate him, not condone his attitude but to despise a player who has done nothing wrong on and off the pitch and loves the club to bits is nothing but an underlying hatred and discrimination. Sorry, but I have to call a spade a spade. Besides, we still have a game in hand at home and Losserpool have not even played their game yet ! I would understand overreactions if the title was jeopardized, but it is not the case today.

He has his right to be incensed. It may have been an overreaction and we are all human but I disagree wholeheartedly with you. There’s no calling a spade or otherwise here. We differ on this for sure.

Exactly. Should have been off at HT for his fucking disappearing act.

Should have won us the league in the last min against Liverpool.
Should have passed to Foden against Real.
Should have been won us the league today.

The guy does my fucking nut in with his selfish fucking ways and if you are gonna be selfish, you had better be fucking good and have the heart of a lion. He isn’t and he doesn’t.

Hope we can offload him. Granted he was great last season and parts off this but as you say, cost us in critical moments

He’s a skilful player, with a great touch, who has undoubtedly helped us win titles and trophies, but I can’t get past the feeling that he’s the sort of player that needs to be the big fish with a team built around him, to play solely to his strengths.

Unfortunately he isn’t the big fish in our squad and the team won’t ever be built around him. I won’t go as far as to hope he leaves in summer, there was a time I might have, but I’d be interested to see who we could bring in to replace him.

Don’t disagree, and that’s why Guardiola cuts him a lot more slack than others. But he has been below par, and on form he scores that pen today and takes that chance against the dippers.

Obviously wasn’t the only one to struggle today. KDB, Bernado also below par.
